Election day is almost upon us. There are a few tax levies, political candidates, and state issues before to vote on. There has been a lot of advertising for and against Issue 2, the collective bargaining issue. If you were one of the few who voted on September 13, 2011, thank you for preforming your civic duty. Each individual vote had the weight of 22 registered voters, based upon the 4.35% voter turnout stated in the September 14th issue of the Blade. That is a lot of weight yet is nothing when compared to the population of Toledo. Theatre Express is a 24-hour theatre event that recently was held for its fourth year in a row. The event works by having interested students sign up to take part, and said students show up the evening before the performance in costume with a prop. Then, photographs of the students are taken and a small group is sent to each individual playwright. The playwright then created a 5- to 10-minute play overnight based upon the characters.
