Is there anywhere good to eat near Owens campus?

Look around you. Does a students eyes really see a major amount and variety of restaurants near Owens campus. Certainly not. There isn’t a main avenue where commercialization related businesses is built and thrives. Instead a student sees a few mainstream restaurants like Arby’s and Subway. Ah yes, subway. One of my favorite places to eat. As long it isn’t in a gas station. At the intersection of Oregon and Wales Rd. lies a Sunoco gas station and its adjoining eatery, Subway. After a long hard day at work or after a long hard day of studying , is smelling gas fumes the answer, while one chows down on their foot-long sandwich or do they want to eat with clean air and a sense of relaxation. The cramped spaces that are noticeably part of the subway in the gas station at Wales and Oregon also make for low ambiance. I’ve been there. I know. It’s true that the takeout mentality has become so routine for American consumers that it is a cliche of immense proportions. The sheer commonality of such an experience is integral to many fast food business and its part of their lifeblood, which are the consumers. No wonder why the Subway I’m talking about is inside a gas station. A stop and go method of filling ones tank up and ordering food to be eaten away from its restaurant setting seems to be the main purpose of putting a eatery inside a gas station. It’s a great deal for somebody who wishes to get gas and then food. Even though there is a subway and Arby’s nearby Owens needs to have more restaurant choices for the students and staff who work and study at Owens. There also needs to be a larger plan for business development around the area. A world class university deserves world class options.
