A problem with hunger and poor nutrition due to a lack of food is a problem on campus. The Harvest Pantry is proof that students need help.  Team Alliance is trying to bring awareness to the fact that many people at Owens Community College need assistance.

Employee team members Michelle Atkinson, Terrence Katschke, Joann Gruner, and Eileen Goodman are working with AVI, dietary students, Urban Agriculture Program, the Owens Harvest food pantry, and the culinary students to host the Owens Hunger Awareness Event on Thursday, March 21, 2013. The event, which includes a free lunch featuring foods frequently found in the food bank, and prepared by Owens AVI chef, free cookbooks written by the dietary technician students, cooing demos, raffle prizes and herbs to take home, will take place in AVCC rooms 125-128 between 11:00 am-2:00 pm. Keynote speaker Sam Melden, Food for Thought, will speak at the event.

This free event is open to all Owens Community College students, staff and faculty.
